    Holy Guacamole, that's a lot of episodes. I have to admit that the Battle of the Bandits is one of my favorites, mainly because it is COMPLETELY insane. And the animation if prettier for some reason.

    Keep up the good work!

    Yep, 65 episodes of ranger-y goodness. I'm still sad the toy deal with Galoob fell through and they couldn't get funding for a second season. Watching these years later, I have to admit that sometimes the scripts are clunky, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying the heck out of them anyway. Though my hat's off to you, Kalinara, for making it through "Buzzwang's Folly" in order to recap it. Yeesh. I still haven't been able to force myself to rewatch "Rusty and the Boys." It's up there with "Mothmoose" in the running for Worst GR Episode Evarrr.

    I try to console myself with the idea that at least I can bitch about the really bad ones.

    And honestly, even the bad ones are probably on par with say, Thundercats.

    Seriously. At least we never heard any of the rangers clearly enunciating the Moral of Today's Episode.

    And you know your bitching will fall on sympathetic ears, because we all hated "Mothmoose." And Buzzwang. I so wanted that damned robot to blow up real good.

    (Hi! I looked right over that there bit what told me I had an option to post from my Gmail ID. How lame is that?)

    I admit to a really bizarre fondness for Tygra's moral-of-the-day speeches though. There was just something so long suffering about them.

    I haven't seen Mothmoose yet, but I'm duly warned. :-)

    Heya--I wrote the Episode Guide back in 1994, when all we had to go on were Nth gen dupes from tape trading rings, and in some cases, my dodgy memory. I tried to arrange them in some kind of order that made sense based on contuinuity. but I'm nto even sure what the 'right" order is.

    I'm enjoying the hell out of these, by the bye. And if you need screencaps, you're welcome to all the caps on my site:

    http://www.loony-archivist.com/rangers

    (All I ask is that you upload them to blogger instead of inline linking.)

    Hi, I'm glad you're enjoying the recaps.

    I can't imagine how hard it was trying to get the episodes in some kind of order! I'm in awe that you managed to compile them in such a nice list.

    And thanks for the offer of screen caps! I may take you up on that at some point. (Don't worry, I always upload on Flickr. Had my own hassles with hotlinkers before. :-))

    "Galaxy Rangers" vs. "South Park"

    No kidding! When you get right down to it, Galaxy Rangers and South Park much more alike than you think! Here are some examples:

    Zach=Stan
    Niko=Kyle
    Goose=Cartman
    Doc=Kenny
    Buzzwang=Butters

    Battle of the Bandits=Chef Aid
    Tortuna Rock=Something You Can Do With Your Finger
    Mistwalker=Rainforest Schmainforest
    Rusty and the Boys=Mecha-Streisand
    Ghost Station=Korn's Groovy Pirate Ghost Mystery

    If you think hard enough, then you'll find the examples above much more similar than you think! Think of South Park as a more "extreme" version of Galaxy Rangers!

    Personally, I think that Matt & Trey are way better than most of the losers who wrote the Galaxy Rangers (especially Dan Fiorella & John Rawlins) and I would love to see Matt and Trey buy the entire Galaxy Rangers franchise! Matt and Trey would surely know what to do with the franchise way more than those losers at KOCH would!

    Now don't get me wrong, Galaxy Rangers is a good show, but when you get right down to it, South Park is leagues better than the Galaxy Rangers and just thinking of what Matt and Trey would do with the franchise would be great! Imagine crossovers with South Park and vica-versa! That would be so great! Not to mention the more mature content the show would have since it wouldn't be a daytime cartoon, I would love it!

    Of course, none of this will happen but I will not give up and I will continue to wait for the day Matt and Trey take over the Galaxy Rangers and turn it to the show it deserves to be even if takes 100 years! And that would be an award worth waiting for!

    "Holy Guacamole, that's a lot of episodes"

    Of course it is, it was a weekday show, not a once a week show, so of course there's gonna be a lot of episodes.

    "I still haven't been able to force myself to rewatch "Rusty and the Boys." It's up there with "Mothmoose" in the running for Worst GR Episode Evarrr."

    Invasion says hi. Although those two are pretty bad too.

    "Dan, is that you? You had me going for a sec there."

    Don't be a fool. If that was him, I doubt he would put himself down like that.

    As for the "anonymous" poster above, good work! I totally agree with your theory's.

    Galaxy Rangers=good
    South Park=better

    Matt and Trey>Robert Mandell

    I never thought of such similarities before until I read your post and now that I think about it, South Park and the Galaxy Rangers are much more similar than I think! Keep it up!

    Oh and anonymous poster, please leave your name at the bottom of your messages so I'd like to know who you are and that goes for anybody else who posts anonymously too. Thank You.

    "Matt and Trey would surely know what to do with the franchise way more than those losers at KOCH would!"

    I agree that the losers at KOCH are not worthy of owning Galaxy Rangers, however as much as I love Matt Stone and Trey Parker for what they have done for South Park, I don't think they would be the right choice to run the Galaxy Rangers franchise. I personally think that if anybody's worthy of owning the Galaxy Rangers, it's Time Warner. So I will pray for the day Time Warner acquires the rights to the Galaxy Rangers franchise. In the meantime, I will pray that Time Warner good luck with the new Thundercats cartoon. I know they can do it.

    I also hope Time Warner makes a new Jonny Quest while their at it as well!

    "Oh and anonymous poster, please leave your name at the bottom of your messages so I'd like to know who you are and that goes for anybody else who posts anonymously too. Thank You."

    How about, no.

    Phoebe. Honey. I am now pointing and laughing. Have you ever had a single contact with Dan Fiorella? The man makes fun of himself all the time.

    As for the anonymous invertebrate who called the GR crew "losers" -- they must have done something right, because you, you know, watched the show. You obviously even know the show well enough to know that your sense of humor doesn't jibe with Dan's and John's. Which is fine, but being a dick about it on the internet just makes you a dick on the internet. Don't be a dick on the internet. It makes Baby Jesus cry.

    Seriously, you two. If you don't like GR, why are you here? If you do like it, why are you bothering to compare it to South Park? Sure, they're both cartoons, but that's pretty much all they have in common. That's about as intelligent as comparing donuts and sushi. Oh, wait, they're both foods, so naturally we should pray for my favorite sushi chef to take over Krispy Kreme. That'll end well.

    "Which is fine, but being a dick about it on the internet just makes you a dick on the internet."

    If you read carefully, they said they LIKE Galaxy Rangers they just think South Park is better that's all.

    "Don't be a dick on the internet. It makes Baby Jesus cry."

    Takes one to know one!

    "Seriously, you two. If you don't like GR, why are you here?"

    And it's obvious that you are one of those psycho fangirls that MUST DEFEND THIS SHOW AT ALL COSTS when somebody comes out with an opinion stating how they feel about this and that! If you like Galaxy Rangers that's fine! Just don't shove your garbage beliefs down other people's throats!

    As for me, Galaxy Rangers is a great show and the good writers desevere credit for it. But at the end of the day, I agree with the South Park lovers, South Park is just way more awesome and I too wouldn't mind seeing Trey and Matt make fun of the Galaxy Rangers in a future episode.

    That's my opinion. If you like it, cool. If you don't, then tough s--t! And remember, NOBODY IS FORCING YOU TO READ THE COMMENTS!

    As a big fan of both the Galaxy Rangers and South Park, I thought I'd like to sing this song:

    "I'm goin' down to BETA Mountain
    Gonna have myself a time."

    Zach and Niko: "Friendly faces everywhere
    Humble folks without temptation."

    "Goin' down to BETA Mountain
    Gonna leave my woes behind."

    Goose: "Ample parking day or night
    People shouting Howdy Neighbor!"

    "Heading on up to BETA Mountain.
    Gonna see if I can't unwind"

    Doc: (muffeled singing)

    "Come on down to BETA Mountain and meet some friends of mine."

    My favorite episode of Galaxy Rangers is Armada and my favorite South Park episode is Cartman Joins NAMBLA (John Denver Experience!). Both episodes would make for great episodes for the opposite show! So let's hear it for both the Galaxy Rangers and South Park! Two of the greatest shows of all time!

    "I personally think that if anybody's worthy of owning the Galaxy Rangers, it's Time Warner."

    Agree. Although I would still like to see Matt and Trey have the Galaxy Rangers instead but Time Warner is not a bad alternative and probably makes more sense in the end. Good opinion.

    "I also hope Time Warner makes a new Jonny Quest while their at it as well!"

    That would be so great to have a new Jonny Quest series. Time Warner, make it happen!

    @Elizabeth B
    Alright, I was wrong. I didn't know that Dan Fiorella had a sense of humor. My bad (and good for him). However that anonymous poster is most definitely NOT him!
    Don't rush to judgment.

    I think Final_lap said it best about you. And speaking of Final_lap...

    @Final_lap-
    Calm down my man. I know you're frustrated with Elizabeth B (aren't we all are?), but you gotta learn to keep your cool man even though I don't blame you for going off with that rant because I have a strong urgency of doing such a thing too.

    Everybody, let's just all agree that Galaxy Rangers and South Park are both awesome shows and leave it at that. If you people think that Galaxy Rangers is better than South Park, cool. And if you people think South Park pawns the Galaxy Rangers, fine by me. And if the rest of you think that both shows suck and that Trey, Matt and the writers are losers when compared to let's say, Seth McFarlane, I'm okay with that. I don't agree with that about the Galaxy Rangers and South Park but I won't defend them like some psycho either because at the end of the day, it's your opinion and not mine. Thank You.

    "My favorite episode of Galaxy Rangers is Armada and my favorite South Park episode is Cartman Joins NAMBLA (John Denver Experience!)."

    I'm gonna have to politely disagree with you.

    Best Galaxy Rangers episode: Tower of Combat
    Best South Park episode: Le Petit Tourette (this would make a great Galaxy Rangers episode!)

    "So let's hear it for both the Galaxy Rangers and South Park! Two of the greatest shows of all time!"

    You got that right! And I'll end this by saying that a Galaxy Rangers/Alabama Man (from the Chinpokomon episode) showdown would be awesome!

    Your rhetorical ability astounds me.

    And it's obvious that you are one of those psycho fangirls that MUST DEFEND THIS SHOW AT ALL COSTS when somebody comes out with an opinion stating how they feel about this and that! If you like Galaxy Rangers that's fine! Just don't shove your garbage beliefs down other people's throats!

    ....

    I quote my own comment, second in line on this page:

    Watching these years later, I have to admit that sometimes the scripts are clunky, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying the heck out of them anyway.

    Yes, clearly I must defend this show at all costs, including from myself. OH THE HUMANITY.

    I quote (me) again:

    You obviously even know the show well enough to know that your sense of humor doesn't jibe with Dan's and John's. Which is fine, but being a dick about it on the internet just makes you a dick on the internet.

    Translation for those needing remedial reading comprehension:

    If you don't enjoy some or all of GR, that's fine, but there's no need to personally insult the writers and staff.

    I know you're frustrated with Elizabeth B (aren't we all are?)

    *pat pat* Don't worry, dear, it passes.

    Oh and guys, this is a blog, not a forum, so watch the personal attacks toward each other. I can and will delete any comments that I think cross a line.

    Finally, as a personal note, I don't find Elizabeth B frustrating at all. :-)

    I thoroughly enjoy your GR recaps; you've got great writing talent and I've laughed out loud as I've read through them. Tho it's been quite a while since you've posted new recaps, I'm a wondering if you will do a couple of more, particularly "Galaxy Stranger" and "Lord of the Sands" if there are too many. I'd love to get your take on these! You were more than 1/2 way there in geting to through all the episodes! It's great they are on youtube and various other outlets now as well as on DVD.

    Hi! I'm glad you enjoyed the recaps thus far.

    I would like to do more, actually, the only catch is that they take a while and finding time is always tricky.

    But Galaxy Stranger, Supertroopers, and that battle of the bands episode were ones I was really looking forward to...

    Crap, now I really want to do another one. Curse you! (We'll see. :-))

    I understand about having no time these days and it's much appreciated that you took your time in posting your recaps. I'll just keep on chuckling my way through what you've accomplished so far (I really got hefty giggles out of your "Smuggler's Gauntlet" and "Scarecrow's Revenge" recaps so far, among others). I loved watching the series back in the
    '80s, so thanks for reminding me how fun it was. And if you find the time to do more, YAY! 'Nuff said. :-)
