Damnit. I ended up missing the V premiere. Can someone who saw it tell me if it's any good? Morena Baccarin (sp?) seems like inspired casting, though I've never much liked Scott Wolf. I liked the original a lot.
So, is it worth watching as a casual fan of the original? Or will I be disappointed?

and you can watch it before it expires. Hulu has become my best friend on watching stuff. Still deciding about watching V though.

My wife and I will be watching it on abc.com this weekend along with this week's "Flashforward" episode. THere's no expiration until next season.

It was completely faithful to the original: the acting was wooden, the scripting was heavy-handed, the motivations were weak, the characters were unlikable, and the glaring Plot Stupidity of the original was wholly intact.
My wife and I didn't get past the first half-hour.
Pity. I had high hopes, considering the cast was packed with veterans of some of the best SF shows of the last decade.
