Pretty, Fizzy Paradise

I'm back! And reading! And maybe even blogging! No promises!

So anyway...

You know who I always thought would make an interesting couple:

Namor and Storm.

I mean granted, in the current situation in the Marvel Universe that'd be pretty impossible. And probably in most AUs as well.  But well, she's married a king before.  And she definitely wouldn't take his crap.  :-P

Of course it does beg the question about how weather powers work underwater...

Okay, that's it. I'm back!

(edited to fix formatting: a huge paragraph of text is NOT good blogging!)

So anyway.  I've been idiotically ignoring this blog for ages.  For no real reason.  (well, work and terrible television distracted me.)

So I'm officially back.  Here are some opinions!

I'm not so into DC post reboot.  This isn't a reflection of the quality, just my personal taste.  The stuff I loved most about the DCU was the sense of legacy and community and I just don't feel it anymore.

I'm also not so big on retconning characters' backstories.  Adding stuff is okay, but completely changing it?  I'm not great with that.  I'm finicky that way.

Also, I'm sad that all my essays on Guy Gardner's characterization are defunct because his backstory is different.  :-P  It's self-centered but there you go.

I'm sure I'll get over it eventually, but right now, it's just not doing it for me.  Of course, I'd love hearing from people who are enjoying it.  I'm very suggestible, you might change my mind.

I am however really enjoying X-Men.  They've turned my favorite character into Magneto 2.0 (but better) in a way that I completely buy.  The transformation felt...organic, if that makes sense.

I'll put it this way: Scott going Magneto feels a lot more natural than how Hank seems to have turned into a complete douchebag over the last few years.

Scott's always BEEN a douchebag, anyway.  :-)
