A Personal Note...
Sometimes I issue stupid challenges to myself, just to see if I can do it. Recently, I've challenged myself to read as many of the Xanth books as I can in order, to see how long it will take for my brain to dribble out my ears.
So far I've made it to the fifth book, and I think I'm already starting to dream in puns.
Anyway, I'm not really sure how much my stamina will hold out, but heck, at least it's a way to turn the brain off after work.
Wish me luck?

Good luck and stay away from his other stuff! I read a rerelease of one of his early books, one he had then the clout to reissue it without the changes his editor insisted on back in the day and found it such an unpleasantly misogynistic book I've never read anything by the author again!

Good luck. Never particularly liked the Xanth series back when I was younger. Let me know how it is.

See, you're not too bad off with the early ones. Some of them are actually all right, and the one good thing about Piers Anthony is that he does come up with a good supply of neat ideas. But, if I remember right, they kinda deteriorate as the series progresses. So if you feel like you need to pull the rip cord, don't hesitate.

Oh, man. Loved those as a kid. I think somewhere in the early 20s is when I drifted away from the series.
Piers Anthony: Possibly the textbook example of interesting ideas executed inconsistently.
