Hee.
Is it weird that I totally think there should be a Superfriends type pet book? You know, with Krypto, Streaky, Comet, that Bat-Dog from the seventies (Ace?), and so on?
They could all have adorable animal adventures with superpowers!
It might be awkward working a counterpart for Aquaman, but I like imagining a fish in one of those land suits from Futurama. :-)
I dunno, it just seems like one of those things that could be unbearably cute or extremely annoying. Win-win!

There used to be some, or at least back-ups. Which is where the team of super-powered dogs in the Krypto cartoon came from...
Aquaman had a giant seahorse mount and a walrus sidekick. I think Hal had some weird alien thing as a pet sidekick...

There's a whole super-pet book series available, I know that much. I haven't ordered them for my library yet, but I'm going to. DC easy reader books practically have their own catalog! It's so awesome.

In the cartoon Aquaman had a Sea Horse he rode called Stormy. The was a Walrus as well, but the name escapes me right now. Am I totally a lost cause that I own the Aquaman Cartoon DVD?

No, it's not weird, and yes, there totally should be such a book.
Tusky, I believe the name of Aquaman's walrus friend was. He appeared in at least one story during Peter David's run on Aquaman.
A team like you suggest did appear in recent-ish issues of Super Friends

and Tiny Titans

And while it's certainly not canon, if you're interested in a DC super-pet team line-up, you may enjoy my 2007 post, "The Tornado's Pets," if you haven't already seen it:

(Brad Meltzer's first issues of JLoA are sorta necessary for context, though)

Time for a return of the Legion Of Super-Pets?
"Members include Krypto the Super-Dog and Streaky the Supercat. The team first appeared in Adventure Comics #293 (February 1962)"
