Proto-Lawyer No Longer!
I can officially drop the "proto-"! Yay me!
On the downside, I'm totally abysmal at NaNo (I am the world's slowest writer, I swear to god) but I'm totally too happy to care!
I'll fail at NaNo if it means passing the bar!

Not exactly. Technically, I need to get admitted to the Fourth Department (the part of NYS I live and work in) and get sworn in to do full on lawyer stuff.
But it does increase my job-hunting potential considerably. And there are things that I can do as an attorney that I couldn't do as a law school graduate even without all the bells and whistles. :-)

I imagine you as being a Matt Murdoch kind of a lawyer but with much less angst and some less spandex. And that can only be a good thing.
(PS since I'm from the UK I can use "Esquire" without having to do anything as clever as passing law exams ;-p )

AFAIK, it's mostly just bureaucracy. I don't have any sort of criminal history, so hopefully I shouldn't have a problem with the character assessment stuff.
