Irrational Capslock of incoherent joy!!!

Nearly unprecidented third post in one day! Never going to see it again!

But, Ragnell just showed me this. Pointing out that there's likely foreshadowing for a plot about Jim Jordan.

But that's not what I'm looking at. *I* am looking at Booster Gold.

Guy Gardner's HISTORICALLY the Greatest Green Lantern ever! (Booyah, Hal/Kyle fans!)

But that's not the part I'm excited about. They'll undoubtedly fix that back. (Anyway, we Guy fans don't NEED stupid titles to know which Lantern really rocks hardest!)

I'm looking at...the plot!

OMG! YES! Pre-damaged Guy! Sinestro! You have no idea how thrilled I am, seriously! This is like! Dude! Incoherent making!

Booster Gold interacting with Guy Gardner BEFORE Abin Sur ever crashed on Earth!

Booster Gold having to PROTECT Guy Gardner from Sinestro.

When does this come out?! I WANT IT NOW!

Interesting that apparently interacting with Sinestro appears to bring about the alternate timeline Hal saw in Guy's first appearance.

But I digress. I want it NOW! :-)

But... the greatest Green Lantern of all time is Alan. Everyone knows that.

    *confused*

Oh this is going to be one HECK of a Wednesday. Three weeks or more without Guy, and then BAM! Booster Gold AND Green Lantern.

    I feel faint.

It's nice to see that Geoff Johns hasn't forgotten PRE-Sinestro Guy.

Why do I get the feeling that the endpoint of this story is going to make Guy look like a chump in comparison to Hal?

I've noticed that tendency lately. SC is making Kyle look like a bit of a chump (compare Kyllalax to Halallax)- yeah I know they made him look good initially, but they've kinda blew it since then.

Yeah, I can see why people like Hal now, but I really feel like they're giving Guy/Kyle (less so John) second banana status.

The greatest Green Lantern is G'nort.

How do people not know this?

    Jeff:

Gotta disagree with you there man. Kyle took a lot more to fall, to begin with. Hal lost his home, sure, but then arrogance caused the rest. Kyle had an incredibly recent loss and then was tortured directly.

No one withstands torture forever. And it should be noted that Hal had embraced Parallax, while all interviews/solicits indicate that Kyle's still in there actively fighting it. (Not to mention, they know what he is.)

Also, of course Kylelax isn't going to be as effective. They're in the middle of a war and they know what Parallax IS. Also...Parallax doesn't have the POWER he had under Hal because during that time he'd taken all of that FROM the main battery.

(Now, you want to see something that makes Parallax look like a chump? Oblivion in Circle of Fire.)

Also, honestly, I don't know what comic you've been reading, but in Green Lantern, Hal's flaws and egotistic tendancies are very clearly portrayed. In the last crossover with Guy for example: Hal lies to get him to go along while Guy ultimately ends up taking the blame for him, with Hal letting him.

It's pretty obvious who comes out better there. :-)

Actually, most times they've revisited pre-Sinestro Guy, HE's the one who always ends up looking...well...way too perfect.

Mostly to contrast post-Sinestro Guy. But pre-Sinestro Guy is the tragic victim, essentially. Always brave, true-hearted and invariably screwed over by fate.

This one'll be interesting because it's not Hal involved, but someone who only knows Guy as the post-damage version. :-)

Hmm, actually, this might be the first time he does get to be portrayed as not screwed over by fate since in the real timeline, he's actually doing quite well for himself. :-) That'll make it even more interesting!

In the end though, it doesn't bother me if history records Hal, Kyle, Alan or someone else entirely as the "World's Greatest Lantern"/"Greatest Lantern Ever".

    *I* know who's really awesome.

Yeah. You're right on all those counts.

The reason I said that is it seems like the writing is constantly trying to remind us how great Hal is, how he's the only one who can do it- etc.

Guy is awesome. He's just not only the only one who's awesome.

It's interesting to have someone who only knows Guy AFTER his run-in with Sinestro. Other than Hal, I can't think of any other heroes with the exception of Green Arrow and Black Canary who ever KNEW Guy before he got blown up by Hal's power battery.

Dinah and Guy never got along back in the old JLI days, I've always wondered if she even remembers meeting him before. He DID manage to get Ollie's chili down however and LIVE.
