Well...he was in the Detroit League AND the JLI. He's dealt with crazy people and survived. Also Hal Jordan. And Batman.
He probably has quite the deadpan sense of humor.

I completely agree, on both his success at it, and his style. I'd expect his routines to be much like Jackie Mason. Deadpan deliveries of nonsense that sounds almost normal at first...
Of course every time I read J'onn now he's going to sound like Frosty the Snowman in my head.
