Random Love...

I love Annuals. Annuals make for the best crack-tastic plots sometimes.

Sometimes they explain neat stuff...like how pre-Morrison Klarion turned blue in one of the Demon Annuals.

Sometimes they're just fun...like the one where the three Gardner sisters have to go reclaim a family heirloom (a lantern, hah!) from the eeevil Lizzie Jordan.

Well, one of *my* personal favorites is Green Lantern Annual 6.

Basically Kyle falls into a painting and ends up wearing a loincloth and a wacky helmet...and not much else:

This is the source of my Christmas Card way back when.

Yep. I love comics.

Man, even more than Hal, Guy, or John, ridiculous stuff would happen to Kyle. ;-)

Nah. You ever read Warrior? Kyle's got a looooong way to go before he catches up to Guy in terms of cracked-out ridiculousness. :-P

    Kyle's much prettier though.

But not for almost naked Kyle.

You almost have me convinced to pick up some Warrior back issues. Almost is the key word.

Hmmm, you have a point there. But Guy always dealt with it better. ;-)

    devon: Yep.

shane: Would it help sway the balance if I mentioned that there's a nazi riding a dinosaur?

And an entire issue that tells the story in normal form AND "animated universe" form?

    And gratuitous gender shifting?

And an adventure that's just Guy, Wonder Woman, Hawkman and eventually Lobo in SPAAACE?

dan: That he did. But when you've seen that much of it, you gotta adapt...

Man, I miss Beau Smith's Warrior...that was just a great book.

And as for Annuals...its stories like that that got them cancelled! Remember the Legends of the Dead Earth stuff? Terrible!

    Wait--wait--wait...

A Nazi riding a dinosaur AND Kyle in a loincloth?

    Damn, I need this annual.

No! Sorry! I was extolling Warrior's good points to Shane.

No nazi and dinosaur in this annual.

...there is a tentacle monster though...

"Legends of the Dead Earth" had some cool ideas- like the Catwoman annual where Catwoman and Batman were murderous thieves and the Joker was a detective who had been maimed in an accident by Catwoman, with Edward Nigma as his partner.
