Well *I* think it's cool

Okay, so with all the hubbub about Batwoman, her sexuality, her possible exploitability, her hair and heels, I haven't seen anyone comment on what I think is the most interesting part of the original Ross image...



According to the notation, she's 5'10". She's *tall*. She's exactly one inch shorter than Nightwing, Kyle or Sand. And she wears *heels*.

Which means that in a practical sense, she's going to be taller than them.

I like that. :-)

    Do we know that the 5'10" isn't in the heels,though? (That was my assumption since I figured the height was given so artists could measure her against other characters in a scene.) Because that would make her 5'7" or 5-8", putting her in the "tall enough to be sexy, not tall enough to be scary" category. :)

    *nod* it urks me too. But then I'm hoping it ends up a character point. Like she has the long hair/high heels/belt because she's vain and likes to look pretty, and other characters call her on it.

    I like vain/shallow characters sometimes, it'd give her a nice dose of humanity. Also run her counter to Montoya or Sawyer, DC's other most featured lesbian characters.

    You know, the 5'10" figure could also include the "ears" on the mask....

    I hope she's scary-tall, I hope the heels are a sign of vanity too, and I really hope it's established somehow that Kate Kane has consciously decided to wear an updated version of Barbara Gordon's old costume. Would it have killed DC to have done something with Kathy Kane's yellow-and-red duds?

    Yes, you got *it*: she's TALL. That's the key to her sexy aura (outside of the obvious others).
