WoT movie?

If it weren't for blog@, I would have no idea what's going on.

Anyway, apparently there's going to be a Wheel of Time movie.

I repeat. There's going to be a Wheel of Time movie.

This is not a knock against the story or Mr. Jordan, but holy hell, I thought trying to shove the Lord of the Rings into movies were a tight squeeze and there are THREE of them.

I honestly can't imagine how they'd manage to truncate even just the FIRST WoT book into a single movie. The amount of characters alone! A mini series, I could see, but a movie?!

On the other hand, given how movies have to truncate novel plots anyway to get them to fit into about two hours, it might be a good thing. They can chop out everything extraneous and maybe I'll finally be able to wade through the sucker.

OMG :\ I.. dunno how they're going to do it... WoT isn't a book I think of that could be easily translated into a movie. :\ Me and my sister used to throw around casting ideas for a WoT movie tho :D The actors are prolly too old by now. xD

Actually given how much bloat is in the WoT series I can easily see doing a movie BASED on the story. Depending on how much background, side characters and quest repeating you leave in you could do anywhere from 1 movie to 1 movie per book...

It won't be the same thing, but even with savage cutting you'd still have the core story and cast...

Doesn't mean it won't be a huge pile of fail of course. Probably still better than the tv show being worked on based on Terry Goodkind's books...

    *shudder*

. . . They're making a a TV show based on Sword of Truth? Awesome. Doesn't the 'hero break a seven-year-old girl's jaw ' scene pop up by book two? That should go over well.

There's a simple solution to that Flidget! :D

Just replace "seven-year-old" with "seven-million-year-old" and "girl" with "dinosaur"

    ...and "hero" with "giant ape".

    xD
